Meet Ryan, Chief Operating Officer

Meet Ryan, Chief Operating Officer

Joining the Romar-Abrado team in November 2020, Ryan is our Chief Operating Officer and ensures a smooth service for our customers while supporting our global team. With a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, he offers impressive knowledge and experience in fishing, milling and wellbore intervention. Discovering what made Ryan choose to join team Romar-Abrado, we explore his role in greater depth.

“After living and working across the states, most recently in Wyoming, moving to Broussard to take on the role at Romar-Abrado was an exciting new venture. I’ve been lucky to have great experience in operations management across several years with Baker Hughes. Throughout my career, I’ve always been familiar with Romar-Abrado’s innovative technology and could see its potential for development in the P&A market. When I was offered the opportunity to join the team, I was excited to play a role in realising that potential.

“Figuratively speaking, my role involves keeping everything well-oiled and moving. I look after several team members, ensuring they have the support that they need. So far, my position has heavily involved standardising our processes and helping to develop new workflows that will support the broader organization. We’re coming out the other side of a R&D phase, and I look forward to seeing our reboot put into practice. My focus more recently has been on the engineering technology side of the business and identifying areas for development alongside our knowledgeable team.

“Our operations excellence mindset is most present within my role when leading my team. I’m always keen to encourage continuous improvement, collaboration and data-driven decision making where I can. Taking a coaching approach is important to me, and I’m thankful that I can inspire others to take ownership of their workload. It’s not straightforward implementing such a mindset change, but that’s where training and talent development comes in. It’s been great to see the Romar-Abrado team develop, and my past experiences have certainly supported the implementation of our operations excellence mindset.

“The technology at Romar-Abrado is something that I’ve been enthusiastic about for many years. After working with milling products in the past, I recognised very early on that the methodology Romar-Abrado used to perform dual string section milling was superior. I watched from a distance and often thought of ways Romar-Abrado could improve its execution, so taking on the COO position with the organisation was extremely exciting. The milling side of the P&A market is a real passion of mine, and I can’t wait to see future developments through with support from the Romar-Abrado team.

“I’m very hopeful for the future of Romar-Abrado. We have a really great team in place, and our united passion for the organisations potential will result in great things. The processes and cultural shift that have already been implemented is a cause for celebration, and I believe the years to come will include plenty of triumphant moments. Our merger with ROMAR International unlocks a vault of possibilities; together, we can move forward and offer something new to the P&A market.”
