Scope

Design and execute program to complete dual string section milling operation for barrier placement to allow final abandonment of the well in planned 7 day AFE.

Operator Challenges

Well had sustained casing pressure across 7” x 9 5/8” x 13 3/8” casing annuli. Day light only operations, small foot print, limited platform space, BOP, crane and power swivel unit were required. Complete work in 7 days.

Abrado Solution

Abrado applied the 5.50” OD Medusa® VS section milling tool to mill a dual string window for inflatable packer placement. Abrado also utilized 4 ¾” OD MagTraps and Mud Viper ditch magnets were used to capture mill swarf.
