Scope

Design and execute program to section mill (1) single string and (1) triple string window. Casing window ID’s were scrubbed clean for barrier placement to allow abandonment of the well in less than 25 days.

Operator Challenges

Operator needed to complete well in less than 25 days. Well required (3) windows to be section milled and the outer most casing string ID needed to be cleaned for inflatable bridge plug placement. Well had sustained casing pressure across multiple casing strings. BOP, crane and power swivel unit were required.

Abrado Solution

Abrado applied the use of 3 different proprietary section milling tools to achieve successful results which included the Abrado 7 3/4″ OD Medusa VS Section Mill, Abrado 8 3/8″ OD SCR 1000 and the Abrado 8 1/8″ OD CSM 1000.

1st Single String Window – Depth 860′ – 900′ (40′), 9 5/8″ Casing OD X 20″ Casing ID scrub.

2nd Triple String Window – Depth 650′ – 730′ (80′), 9 5/8″ Casing OD X 11 3/4″ Casing OD, Depth 665′-725′ (60′), X 16″ Casing OD, Depth 680′- 700′ (20′), scrub casing ID
