Medusa® Technology

Medusa® section milling and cutting technology were developed to meet the need for a cost-saving, permanent and verifiable 360 degrees barrier to be placed in the wellbore without the need to cut/pull and dispose of multiple casing strings or conduct lengthy and expensive pilot milling of single casing strings. Medusa® enables dynamically stabilised single and multiple string section milling while ensuring no harm to outer casing strings, regardless of casing eccentrics.

Medusa® VS Technology

Medusa® VS performs dynamically stabilised single and multiple string section milling of the casing while ensuring no adverse damage to outer casing strings. Medusa® self-centralises inside the string of casing it is milling so that eccentric casing strings can be milled selectively. No matter your section milling needs, there is a tool in the Medusa® product line to get the job done.

Medusa® CT Technology

Medusa® CT cutting technology was developed specifically for Thru Tubing P&A to meet the need for permanent rock to rock barrier placement without removing production tubing. Medusa® CT is backed by Romar-Abrado’s extensive dual- string section milling experience and is run on conventional coiled tubing. The tool is fully stabilised while milling upwards below a left-hand rotation mud motor and our patent-pending CT release tool. This breakthrough technology allows operators to section mill windows in the tubing and casing and underream to rock formation, further reducing P&A costs while ensuring an effective barrier placement.
